Shiv Sena MP Milind Deora made some strong remarks about Uddhav Thackeray, the leader of Shiv Sena (UBT). He said that while many people were mourning the victims of a tragic attack in Pahalgam, Uddhav and his family were on vacation in Europe.
Deora explained that the Thackeray family, once seen as leaders who cared for Maharashtra, now seemed more like tourists. He criticized them for not showing any support on Maharashtra Day and called their approach “luxury politics.” Deora praised Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde for being present with the victims and honoring local heroes during this tough time.
During the Pahalgam attack last month, 26 people, mostly tourists, lost their lives when shooters opened fire. In response to the situation, India has taken several actions against Pakistan, such as limiting trade and diplomatic ties. Deora mentioned that many opposition party leaders publicly supported the government’s approach towards Pakistan after the attack but later changed their statements.
He pointed out that this inconsistency was unfair and confusing, especially since they had earlier expressed unity in action against terrorism.
