The X (formerly Twitter) accounts of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan and ex-minister Bilawal Bhutto are now blocked in India. This happened because of rising tensions between India and Pakistan after a terror attack in Pahalgam. The notice on X said that @BBhuttoZardari was blocked in India due to a legal demand.
This situation comes after several Pakistani celebrities faced similar actions. Accounts of famous singer Atif Aslam, cricketers Shahid Afridi and Babar Azam, and actor Fawad Khan have also been blocked. Many Pakistani stars like Hania Aamir and Mahira Khan had their Instagram accounts blocked too, along with Ali Zafar, Sanam Saeed, Bilal Abbas, Momina Mustehsan, Iqra Aziz, Imran Abbas, and Sajal Aly.
Recently, the Indian government banned 16 Pakistani YouTube channels. These included well-known news sources like Dawn News, Samaa TV, ARY News, and Geo News. The ban was due to these channels sharing content that was seen as provocative, sensitive, or misleading about India.
