Panaji, Goa – BITS Pilani’s Goa campus is changing its courses to help students more, especially after three students sadly took their own lives in just five months. Recently, a 20-year-old student was found dead in his hostel room.
To support students better, the school is allowing them to take exams later if they feel stressed. They are also making new classes about mental and physical wellness, as well as stress management. A special Student Wellbeing Dashboard is being created to help students get the support they need quickly.
The school urges students to speak up if they are having a hard time. They want everyone to know that asking for help is brave and a sign of strength. “If you are struggling, please talk to someone. You’re not alone; help is here,” they said.
The school is working with local authorities and supporting the families affected by these tragedies. They are reviewing their support systems to ensure they are as strong as possible. “We are heartbroken over the loss of our student, Krishna Kasera. Our community is here for everyone during these tough times,” they added.
