People are starting to worry about Kash Patel, the director of the FBI. A former high-ranking official, Frank Figliuzzi, has raised questions about Patel’s commitment to his job. He noticed that Patel seems to spend more time at clubs than at the FBI headquarters in Washington, D.C.
On the show Morning Joe, Figliuzzi mentioned that the mood at the FBI is chaotic. He said, “He’s reportedly been seen at nightclubs more often than at the Hoover Building.” Reports indicate that the daily briefings for Patel have decreased from every day to just twice a week.
Many are concerned that Patel, known as a close ally of former President Donald Trump, is trying to run the FBI without enough experience. He has been splitting his time between the Hoover Building and his home in Las Vegas. Figliuzzi said, “This lack of experience could lead to problems. If he isn’t fully involved, things might not be good. Agents are left to run things, which is unpredictable.”
Recently, Senate Democrats requested an investigation into Patel’s use of FBI resources, especially regarding private jets. There is talk that the U.S. Government Accountability Office might look into the costs of his travels and whether personal trips were paid for by taxpayers.
Patel has reportedly ordered lie detector tests within the FBI to find out who may be leaking information to the media. An FBI spokesperson said these leaks were serious because they could harm the bureau’s security.
