A police complaint has been made against actor Vijay Deverakonda for comments he reportedly said about tribal people. According to a report from Telangana Today, a lawyer named Lal Chauhan from Hyderabad filed the complaint after Vijay’s speech at the event for the movie “Retro,” starring Suriya.
In his complaint, Lal claimed that Vijay linked the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, which killed 28 people, to conflicts among tribal communities from long ago. Tribal groups have also spoken out, saying his comments were disrespectful and have asked for an apology from the actor.
The police mentioned that they will look into the matter and take action based on legal advice. During his speech, Vijay emphasized the need to educate people and talked about the situation in Kashmir. He stated, “Kashmir belongs to India, and Kashmiris are ours.” He also criticized Pakistan and said, “India doesn’t even need to attack Pakistan because they are tired of their own government.” He further remarked, “They behave like tribals did 500 years ago, fighting without common sense.”
This incident follows a tragic terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Kashmir, that happened on April 22, which left many dead and injured. Since then, many famous personalities have condemned the violence and called for the government to take firm steps against the terrorists. Vijay also mentioned his memories visiting Pahalgam while filming for “Kushi” two years ago.
