US Backs India Against Terrorism After Pahalgam Attack

Recently, a terrible attack happened in Pahalgam, India, where terrorists killed 26 people, mostly tourists. The United States showed strong support for India and its Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, as they fight against terrorism.

Tammy Bruce, a spokesperson for the US State Department, said during a press conference that the US is actively talking with the leaders of both India and Pakistan. Following the attack, the US is keeping an eye on the situation. “Just yesterday, our Secretary of State talked to India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif,” Bruce explained.

Bruce emphasized that President Trump assured Prime Minister Modi that the US stands with India. She also mentioned conversations with key leaders in New Delhi and Islamabad to encourage stability in the region.

Following the Pahalgam attack, the US urged both countries to seek peaceful solutions to avoid further conflict. They are in constant communication with both governments about the situation.

India has taken strong actions against Pakistan in response to the attack, such as limiting the flow of water from the Indus River and reducing the staff at their embassies. Now, the Indian armed forces have been given the freedom to respond as they see fit.
