NEW DELHI: On Friday, some companies saw their shares reach new heights! Force Motors, Reliance Naval & Engineering, Privi Specialty Chemicals, Godfrey Phillips, and Cura Tech all hit fresh 52-week highs on the NSE. Meanwhile, the Nifty index closed up 12.5 points at 24,346.7, thanks to strong buying of major blue-chip stocks.
In contrast, a few companies faced tough times. Stocks like Keerti Knowledge, Bodhi Tree Multimedia, GI Engineering, AGS Transact Tech, and Gensol Engineering hit their new 52-week lows. Overall, 17 shares in the Nifty 50 climbed up, while 33 dropped down.
Among the biggest gainers in the Nifty 50 were Adani Ports SEZ, Bajaj Finance, IndusInd Bank, State Bank of India, and Reliance Industries. On the flip side, stocks like JSW Steel, Bajaj Auto, Eicher Motors, Hero MotoCorp, and HDFC Life Insurance saw losses.
The BSE Sensex also rose, closing up 259.75 points at 80,501.99. Traders showed interest in sectors like Airlines, Petrochemicals, Pesticides/Agro Chemicals, Learning & Education, and Building Materials, while they sold off stocks in Defence, Tobacco, Fertilisers, and ReITs/InvITs.
