In Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, a man named Pathan Khan was arrested by the police because he was spying for Pakistan’s intelligence agency, ISI, for 12 years. He reportedly started working for them back in 2013, after he traveled to Pakistan.
The police found out about him through tips from their informants. On March 18, officers detained him for questioning and formally arrested him a few days later. Officials say that ISI agents lured him into spying with money, and he even received training in spying techniques.
Pathan was sharing sensitive information about India’s Border Security Force (BSF) activities near the international border using social media. To hide his real identity, he pretended to be a farmer named Ravi Kishan. The police found that he received payments from the ISI through various means and used fake SIM cards for his communications.
Now, the police are checking what information he has shared over the years. They believe he might have sent videos and photos of BSF staff and their work around the border area. Investigations are still ongoing.
