Delhi Police Capture 8 Luxury Car Thieves in Major Bust

New Delhi: The police in Delhi have caught eight members of a gang that was stealing and selling expensive cars. An official said this gang, led by a mastermind named Amir Pasha from Dubai, was taking high-end vehicles from places that didn’t have good security.

The investigation began when a man named Taj Mohammad, also known as Taju, was arrested in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh on August 18 last year. Taju is said to be an important part of the gang and has over 70 criminal cases against him, including robbery and vehicle theft.

Taju’s questioning helped the police find and arrest seven more gang members. These include Imran Khan, known as Guddu, who is good at using technology to steal cars, and Kunal Jaiswal from Mumbai, who bought many of the stolen cars. Another member, Akbar, helped finance the operations and find buyers in northeast India.

The group also includes other members: Mateen Khan, Nagender Singh, Manish Arya, and Nadeem.

Police recovered 15 stolen luxury cars, including popular models like Kia Seltos, Hyundai SUVs, and Toyota Fortuner. They also found fake license plates and imitation car keys. Stolen vehicles were found in places like Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh.

The police caught the gang at different locations, including the Purvanchal Expressway, in February this year. Amir Pasha was directing the whole operation from Dubai, using advanced tools to hack into vehicles. The gang’s tricks included using special devices to change car keys and disabling GPS trackers.

They worked with a network of people in other states, like Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Nagaland, to move the stolen cars. The police are still looking for other gang members who are on the run.
