Tom Cruise is often called “the last great movie star,” known for saving Hollywood’s film industry many times. But Kenneth Branagh, his co-star from the movie “Valkyrie,” believes there’s much more to him than just his action-packed roles and charm. He thinks Tom is an “underestimated actor” and wants people to see him as more than just a regular movie star.
As Cruise gets ready to receive the BFI Fellowship—an important award from the British Film Institute—Branagh is speaking out. He wants everyone to recognize Cruise for all his talents.
Branagh told The Times of London, “If he ever decides to step away from action movies, he will surprise those who only see him as a movie star.” He praised Cruise’s work in films like “Mission: Impossible” and “Top Gun,” saying they offer unique entertainment while also keeping audiences engaged.
Branagh is honoring Cruise for his long connection with the UK film scene, where he has filmed many movies in the last 40 years. He shared a fun side of Cruise, saying, “He enjoys what he does, is always polite when fans see him, and has a great sense of humor.”
Even though Cruise is getting closer to 50 years in the film industry, he still has a lot of passion for making movies. Upon receiving the BFI Fellowship, he expressed his happiness: “I’m truly honored. I’ve been making films in the UK for over 40 years and have no plans to stop!”
