A teenager had to have important surgery after playing PUBG for too long, which caused a serious back problem and made it hard for him to walk. The boy spent almost a year alone in his room, gaming up to 12 hours a day. When he finally went to the hospital, he was having trouble walking and even using the bathroom.
Doctors at the Indian Spinal Injuries Centre in New Delhi found out that too much gaming led to a big problem with his spine called kypho-scoliotic deformity. This means his spine was bent in a way that was pushing on his nerves and could cause him to be disabled for life. Dr. Vikas Tandon, the head of spine services at ISIC, noted that they are seeing more kids with back issues due to sitting too long while gaming.
The teenager was also facing other issues like losing interest in exercise and school activities and becoming more isolated. This was all related to his gaming problem. The doctors diagnosed him with a serious spine issue and a type of infection called spinal tuberculosis, which made things even harder.
To fix his back and help him walk again, the doctors performed a special surgery using advanced technology. Thankfully, the surgery was successful, and the boy is doing better now, as reported by the hospital.
It’s important to look after our health and be careful about how much time we spend playing video games!
