Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto recently spoke to Indian Ambassador Sandeep Chakraborty about a terrible terrorist attack in Kashmir. He strongly believes this act of violence does not represent the peaceful teachings of Islam in Indonesia. During their two-hour meeting, Prabowo expressed his deep sadness over the senseless killing of innocent tourists, emphasizing that they were attacked just because of their religion. The President, who leads the country with the largest number of Muslims in the world, was particularly upset about the attack.
Prabowo has a good friendship with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and is worried about how violence affects people. He pointed out that in any democracy, the military’s role should be kept in check for it to thrive. He publicly condemned the terrorist act on social media, showing his support for India against terrorism.
In a previous meeting during his visit to India for Republic Day celebrations, Prabowo and Modi highlighted the importance of fighting terrorism together. They agreed on the need for all countries to work side by side to stop terrorism and not allow any safe havens for terrorist groups.
Besides discussing the attack, Prabowo and Chakraborty also talked about strengthening ties in trade, investment, and digital technology. There is a strong interest in working together for mutual growth, and the discussions covered many important topics.
