After scoring an impressive 93 not out against his old team, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, he did a special celebration that went viral online. This celebration even caught the attention of his father-in-law, Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty, who called him right away after watching it on TV.
Suniel shared his excitement during an interview, saying, “I loved it! Watching it gave me goosebumps. Every cricketer should have a moment like this. It shows that KL believes in himself.” He added that since the World Cup and Champions Trophy, Rahul has grown as a player and shown he can finish games strong.
Suniel also talked about how KL has changed his training style. “In the past, he practiced mostly at the nets. Now, he works with my action directors and even practices dialogue delivery,” he joked. On a serious note, he mentioned how younger cricketers are trying to handle the pressure of social media while still enjoying the game. Suniel believes that Rahul wants to express himself more, realizing that hitting sixes can be just as exciting as playing solid innings.
This season, Rahul has scored 371 runs in nine matches with a fantastic strike rate of 146.06!
