Anukul Roy, a spinner for the Kolkata Knight Riders, talked about how important it is to be ready and to keep a positive attitude, no matter how much you play. He mentioned how senior players like Sunil Narine and Varun Chakaravarthy help him and others understand what to do during different match situations.
“Preparation is key. If you think you are not playing or you take a break, you fall out of the game. It’s crucial to stay focused, whether you are playing, practicing, or thinking about the game. The seniors like Narine and Varun help a lot. They give tips about what to do based on the game conditions,” Anukul said after the match.
Anukul played his first match of the Indian Premier League against Delhi Capitals on Tuesday. He bowled really well, taking 1 wicket for 27 runs in 4 overs, which is impressive, especially on a pitch that saw 394 runs scored in total. Thanks to great performances from Narine and Varun at the end, KKR won the match by 14 runs, beating Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
Delhi Capitals appeared strong at 136 runs for 3 wickets in 14 overs, while chasing a target of 205 runs. But Narine and Varun turned things around by stopping Delhi at 190 runs for 9 wickets. Faf Du Plessis scored a half-century, and skipper Axar Patel and Vipraj Nigam also contributed, but it wasn’t enough.
Now, KKR is in seventh place with 4 wins and 5 losses, totaling 8 points. Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals are in fourth place with 6 wins and 4 losses, earning 12 points. At home, they have only won 1 out of 4 matches so far.
