The Mizoram Board of School Education (MBSE) announced the results for the 2025 High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) exam on Tuesday. The overall pass rate improved to 76.68%, up from last year’s 73.37%. This year, 18,946 students took the exam, with 14,527 students passing.
Out of the schools in Mizoram, 107 achieved a perfect 100% pass rate, while unfortunately, 13 schools had no students pass. The top student this year is PC Lalthakimi from KD High School in Aizawl, who scored 479 out of 500. She received distinction marks in all subjects: English, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, and Mizo.
The second place is shared by Isak MS Dawnglima from Government Mizo High School and Malsawmkima Chawngthu from CLS Academy, both highlighting their excellence with distinction marks in five subjects. Ricky Lalnunfela from St. Joseph Higher Secondary School took the third spot.
In Mathematics, the highest score was a perfect 100 by Lalrohlupuii, while C Lalvenzuala achieved the same in Science. More female students passed than male students this year. Of those who passed, 1,343 students received distinction marks, and 3,763 achieved first division marks.
