Traffic Advisory for Maharashtra Day Parade at Shivaji Park – May 1

May 1 is a special day in Maharashtra, as it celebrates the creation of our state back in 1960. This year, there will be a parade at Shivaji Park in Dadar. To make sure everything runs smoothly, the Mumbai Traffic Police has shared some important traffic rules for the area.

When and Where
From 6 AM to 12 PM on May 1, some roads around Shivaji Park will be closed or limited for safety during the parade.

Closed Roads
– Keluskar Road South and North will be closed to all vehicles.
– SK Bole Road will be one-way from Siddhivinayak Junction to Portuguese Church Junction. Cars won’t be allowed to enter from Siddhivinayak Junction to the Yes Bank junction on Swatantraveer Savarkar Road.
– If you’re heading to South Mumbai, turn left at Yes Bank junction and go towards Pandurang Naik Road.

No Parking
You will not be able to park on these roads:
– Keluskar Road South and North
– Pandurang Naik Road
– NC Kelkar Road from Gadkari Chowk to Kotwal Garden

Instead, if you don’t have a car pass, please park at Kohinoor Parking.

For Invitees
Here are some tips for invitees:
– If you’re coming from South and Central Mumbai, it’s best to use the Tilak flyover bridge to reach Shivaji Park.
– If you’re coming from Route South Mumbai, take Dr. Annie Besant Road.
– For invitees coming from the Western Suburbs, there are three suggested routes through the Mahim Old Cadel Road.

Remember, Maharashtra Day marks the division of the Bombay state into Gujarat and Maharashtra in 1960. Enjoy the celebrations!
