Ramdas Athawale Urges War Against Pakistan Over Kashmir Dispute

Union minister Ramdas Athawale recently stated that India should consider going to war against Pakistan if it doesn’t give back Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). His comment came after a terrible attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. While speaking to reporters in Lonavala, he strongly condemned this attack, stating that as long as PoK is under Pakistani control, terrorist activities will continue.

Athawale expressed that India should take control of PoK since many terrorists enter India through that region. “If Pakistan doesn’t return PoK, we need to declare war,” he said. He urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take action and called on the opposition parties to support the government in this matter. He referenced Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, saying we should unite for our nation when needed.

Since the Indian government removed Article 370, which granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir, tourism has increased, and voter turnout in local elections surged to about 60%. Athawale noted that both terrorists and Pakistan are unhappy with these positive changes.

A group of terrorists attacked tourists in Pahalgam recently, killing 26 people. In response, India has taken measures against Pakistan, including suspending the Indus Waters Treaty and limiting the number of Pakistani diplomats in India. The Ministry of External Affairs has also canceled visas for Pakistani nationals. Prime Minister Modi has promised that India will find those responsible for the attack. On Monday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh met with PM Modi to discuss further actions.
