Elon Musk, the famous entrepreneur, has lost popularity since Donald Trump became president. According to a recent poll by The Associated Press-NORC Centre for Public Affairs Research, only 33% of adults in the U.S. like Musk now. This is a drop from 41% in December. Many think he has too much power in the government, with about two-thirds of adults sharing this view. However, Musk is expected to leave his role in the administration soon.
Interestingly, Musk’s popularity is lower than Trump’s efforts to reduce the number of government workers. About half of U.S. adults believe Trump has gone too far with these cuts, while others think he is making the right call. Only a small number want him to cut even more.
The poll also shows Musk’s views are becoming more conservative. Only about 20% of independent voters and just 10% of Democrats have a good opinion of him. In contrast, around 70% of Republicans do like him. While many independents and Democrats think Musk has too much power, only 40% of Republicans feel that way.
