Trump This Time in Front Row at Pope Francis’s Funeral

Former President Donald Trump attended Pope Francis’s funeral at St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City. Some reports said he would sit in the third row with other leaders, which surprised many since Trump is used to being in the front row at events. The seating plan is important because it was based on the countries’ names in French, the official language of diplomacy.

During the service, there was a mix of international leaders on one side and church leaders like cardinals and bishops on the other side. Trump and his wife Melania ended up being seated in the front row next to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who received cheers when he arrived. This was a big change from past events, like the funeral of Pope John Paul II in 2005, where seating was more strictly organized.

Before the funeral, Trump criticized President Joe Biden’s seating at Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral, saying he would have had a better spot if he were president. However, he seemed to enjoy the attention at the Pope’s funeral, highlighting how some things can change when it comes to important events.
