NHRC Condemns Pahalgam Terror Attack: 26 Lives Lost, Urgent Action Needed

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) strongly criticized the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, where 26 innocent people, mostly tourists, were killed. In a statement released on Friday, the NHRC called the attack “cowardly” and said it targeted unarmed civilians who were just enjoying their time.

The commission emphasized that terrorism is a major cause of human rights violations around the globe. They are urging that those who support or carry out such terrible acts should be held accountable.

“The time has come to take action against those who help terrorist activities and make sure they face justice,” the NHRC stated.

They also expressed worries that attacks like this can make it harder for people to live freely and safely. The NHRC highlighted this attack as a serious threat to our rights, such as the right to life and freedom.

Finally, the NHRC called on the government to take urgent steps to bring the attackers to justice and offer support to the victims’ families in any way possible. The attack shook the popular tourist spot in south Kashmir, leaving many injured and grieving.
