Neha Miraniya, the wife of a businessman from Chhattisgarh, is asking the Indian government to recognize her husband, Dinesh Miraniya, as a martyr. He died in a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which took the lives of 26 people on Tuesday.
Neha shared that their family trip was meant to celebrate their wedding anniversary and that they planned to visit Vaishno Devi, a famous temple. They traveled to Kashmir for the kids to see the beautiful area. They intended to leave Pahalgam by 2 PM, but their daughter wanted to do one more activity, so they stayed longer. Tragically, during this time, a group of terrorists opened fire, and Dinesh was killed.
Neha recalled how Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited Pahalgam to pay respects to the victims. She was grateful for the heartfelt farewell he gave to her husband and felt hopeful that the government would honor him with the title of martyr.
Neha also expressed her hope for help from the government for her and her children. She believes that since they are now like family, the government will support them during this difficult time.
The attack on tourists in Pahalgam involved terrorists firing on a large group of people at Baisaran meadow. Out of the 26 people who were killed, 25 were Indians, and one was from Nepal. Many others were injured. Leaders from around the world have sent condolences to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi after this attack.
Following the attack, the Indian government took strong actions against Pakistan, including stopping the Indus Waters Treaty, canceling visas for Pakistanis, and closing border check posts. In response, Pakistan threatened to suspend the Simla agreement and shut its airspace for Indian planes while canceling visas for Indians and closing the Wagah border
