The award ceremony took place in Mumbai on Wednesday, where Jean-Marc Sere-Charlet, the French Consul General, presented the honor to Kapadia. He praised her for her amazing work in film and noted how she helps showcase India’s culture to the world.
When receiving the award, Kapadia expressed her gratitude. “It’s a real honor to receive this recognition. I appreciate the French government’s support for independent cinema worldwide,” she said.
