Congress Leader Mahesh Joshi Arrested in Money Laundering Case

On Thursday, Congress leader and former Rajasthan minister Mahesh Joshi was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a money laundering case. This case is connected to problems with the Jal Jeevan Mission, a program that aims to provide safe drinking water to homes.

Joshi was taken into custody in Jaipur under a law designed to tackle money laundering. The ED is investigating after the Rajasthan’s Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) filed a report about the scheme. This program is supposed to make sure people receive clean water through tap connections at home.

In the past, Joshi was in charge of the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department that handled this project while Ashok Gehlot was the chief minister. So far, the ED has arrested four people in connection with this investigation.
