CSK Struggles This Season: Can MS Dhoni Lead Them to Victory?

The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are having a tough time in this season of the tournament, sitting at the bottom of the points table. So far, they have only won 2 out of 8 matches, and it looks hard for them to reach the playoffs. They struggle to chase high scores, especially when teams set targets over 180. The batting lineup lacks power, and they are relying too much on Shivam Dube to hit big runs in the middle.

CSK’s CEO, Kasi Viswanathan, openly said that the team is not performing well right now. However, he still believes in MS Dhoni’s leadership and in Shivam Dube’s ability to change their fortune in the remaining part of the season. “I know everyone is disappointed with how we are playing this year. We’ve had tough seasons before, but I believe we can improve in the coming matches. Dube has shown he can play well, and with Dhoni leading the team, I am confident we can turn this around,” said Kasi during an event in Chennai.

The injury to their captain, Ruturaj Gaikwad, has also made things harder for them. Because of this, the team is now giving chances to young players like Ayush Mhatre and Shaik Rasheed.

Kasi wants the current players to look back at their successful season in 2010 when they lost five matches but went on to win the title that year with Dhoni’s guidance. “We remember what happened in 2010 when we lost five times in a row but still won the cup. I believe the team is dedicated, and we will see better performances soon,” he said.

CSK will next face the Sunrisers Hyderabad at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. Both teams need these points to keep their hopes alive in the tournament.
