Businessman and Wife Murdered: Suspect Caught Within 24 Hours

In Kottayam, police have arrested a man named Amit Urang just one day after a terrible crime. He is suspected of murdering a businessman, Vijayakumar, and his wife, Meera, in their home. The couple was found dead in separate rooms, with serious injuries.

Amit, originally from Assam, was found hiding at a poultry farm in Thrissur. The police managed to catch him after tracking his movements through Vijayakumar’s phone, which he had stolen after the crime. Amit ran away, taking a train and bus to escape, but the police followed his trail.

Before this incident, Amit had worked at Vijayakumar’s house and auditorium. He had even been arrested before for a money scam. Investigators think that his motive for this murder could be personal revenge, especially since he had a breakup while he was in jail.

Three other people, including Amit’s brother, are also in custody. Two women may have helped Amit get out on bail in his previous case, and police are looking into that. They believe Amit planned the murders carefully and watched the couple before the crime.

While collecting evidence, police found a device that Amit tried to hide in a canal to destroy proof. Additionally, Amit was questioned about the suspicious death of Vijayakumar’s son, Gautham, which is also being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
