Nicola Coughlan Slams JK Rowling Over Controversial Court Decision

Nicola Coughlan, known for her role in “Bridgerton,” has shared her strong feelings about JK Rowling after Rowling celebrated a recent decision by the UK Supreme Court. This decision said that the words “woman” and “sex” in the law only apply to biological sex, which means transgender women are not included.

After Rowling celebrated the ruling with a cigar and a drink, expressing pride in the women who fought for this case, Nicola took to her Instagram. She said, “Keep your new Harry Potter. I wouldn’t touch it with a ten-foot pole.”

In a video on her Instagram, Nicola showed her deep concern about the Supreme Court’s ruling. She said, “I am horrified. It’s really upsetting to see a group of already marginalized people face more attacks, especially through the law. It’s terrible to see others celebrate this. It’s time we stand up and support our trans and non-binary friends. Let everyone know you’re there for them and that we will keep fighting for them.”

Nicola’s comments come as there’s a new “Harry Potter” series being made. The show will include a new cast with John Lithgow as Dumbledore and other well-known actors in key roles.
