The Dehradun district administration has made an important announcement for Mussoorie, a popular hill station. To ensure that visitors enjoy their stay and that everything runs smoothly, they are using a special rule called Section 163 of the Bhartiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) starting Saturday.
This rule helps local leaders to act quickly if there are safety concerns or issues that could disturb the peace. Dehradun’s district magistrate, Savin Bansal, said they want to provide visitors with modern and easy-to-use services while keeping them safe and reducing traffic jams.
To improve the experience for tourists, officials have been instructed to enhance local services. New features include digital tickets at the Mall Road entrance, satellite parking, shuttle services, and golf carts to help tourists get around more easily.
The local police will be responsible for maintaining order in parking areas and directing vehicles to proper parking spots. Municipal workers will also be there to ensure that there is enough lighting, security, mobile toilets, drinking water, and rickshaws or golf carts available at key spots like Library Chowk and Picture Palace.
Regarding parking, additional district magistrate Jai Bharat Singh mentioned that temporary parking lots are set up at locations like Hathi Paon (George Everest Road), Bassaghat, and Kuthal Gate. A permanent parking facility will also be built at King Craig. If the Gajji Band parking gets full, police will direct cars to park at Old Rajpur Road instead.
All parking areas will be organized by vehicle type to make it easier during the busy summer months, ensuring that everyone has a great time in Mussoorie!
