On Monday night, a burning car was found near the Bijwasan Road flyover in Delhi, and sadly, a 42-year-old man named Sandeep was discovered inside. Sandeep was a transport businessman living in Palam Vihar, Gurugram, and was driving home from his office in R K Puram when his Toyota Glanza suddenly caught fire.
The Fire Department got a call at 10:32 PM about a car on fire and sent two fire engines to the scene. They put the fire out by 11:20 PM. Once the flames were gone, firefighters found a charred body inside the car, which was not recognizable at first.
The Kapashera police station received a report about the fire at 10:25 PM on Tuesday. Police quickly sent a team to check it out and found the burning Toyota Glanza. Initial investigations showed that the car was going from the Bijwasan Flyover towards the Dwarka Expressway when the fire broke out, trapping Sandeep inside.
The police used the car’s registration details to contact Sandeep’s family, who came to the scene. Sadly, he was identified as the victim. Sandeep had a taxi transport business in R K Puram and was heading home when this tragic event happened. A team from the Forensic Science Laboratory was called to investigate, and the body was taken to a mortuary. The police are examining CCTV footage to understand what happened.
