Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Bangkok, Thailand, to take part in the 6th BIMSTEC Summit. Before leaving, he shared on X that he would be visiting both Thailand and Sri Lanka. The Prime Minister is excited to meet with leaders from these countries to strengthen friendships and partnerships.
As PM Modi arrived, Indian people living in Thailand gathered to greet him with chants of “Vande Mataram” and “Jai Hind.” Ravi Kumar, the President of the Telugu Association in Thailand, shared his excitement with ANI, saying they hope for more flights between India and Thailand and look forward to positive changes with PM Modi’s visit. Vaishali Tushar Urumkar from the Vishwa Hindu Parishad also expressed her joy about meeting PM Modi.
During his visit, PM Modi will meet with Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra to discuss how India and Thailand can work together better. He will also meet King Maha Vajiralongkorn as part of his trip. This summit will be the first in-person meeting of BIMSTEC leaders since 2018. Previously, they held their last meeting virtually in 2022.
The theme for this important meeting is “BIMSTEC – Prosperous, Resilient, and Open.” The leaders attending are expected to talk about how to make BIMSTEC cooperation stronger. The 6th BIMSTEC Summit will take place on Friday, showing strong connections between India and its neighboring countries.
