The Lok Sabha saw a clash between the ruling NDA and the Opposition when Union Minister Kiren Rijiju introduced the Waqf Amendment Bill. This bill aims to manage Waqf properties better, use technology to improve management, clear up complex issues, and ensure everything is transparent.

When Rijiju introduced the bill, he mentioned that a lot of people had taken part in discussions about it, making it the biggest consultation in India’s parliamentary history.

Opposition’s Response
Before the bill was even introduced, Congress started protesting. Congress leader KC Venugopal spoke against it, saying the government was rushing the bill without giving enough time for members to suggest changes. He argued that people should have a say in important bills like this one.

Amit Shah’s Defense
In response, Union Minister Amit Shah defended the bill. He pointed out that the Opposition had asked for a Joint Parliamentary Committee, which worked differently than past committees. He said that their committee listens to discussions, makes adjustments, and takes them seriously. He criticized previous committees for just stamping approvals without real conversations.

Speaker’s Assurance
As tensions rose in the house, Speaker Om Birla assured everyone that he would carefully consider amendments from both the government and the Opposition.

Rijiju continued to respond firmly to the opposing views, promising more developments in the discussion.
