On Wednesday, the Pakistan Army crossed into Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir, breaking a peace agreement between India and Pakistan. The Nangi Tekri Battalion, which is part of the Indian Army’s Krishna Ghati Brigade, quickly fought back against this surprise attack.

An Indian Army spokesperson said, “On April 1, a mine blew up in Krishna Ghati Sector after the Pakistan Army entered our area. This was followed by firing from their side, which they started without any warning. Our soldiers responded effectively and kept the situation under control.”

The Indian Army emphasized the need to stick to the rules set in 2021 to keep peace along the border. This incident comes as there are ongoing security operations in the nearby Panjtirthi area of Kathua. These operations became more intense after a fight broke out with militants.

The Indian Army, along with the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force), started working together after noticing some suspicious activity on the night of March 31. This led to a new fight in the early hours of April 1.

In response to this situation, security forces launched a search operation to find and neutralize any threats. They have set up surveillance and ambushes based on intelligence gathered, and everyone is keeping a close eye on the area. The Rising Star Corps of the Indian Army confirmed this information, saying that they spotted suspicious movement that led to an exchange of fire. The operations are still ongoing, ensuring the area remains secure.
