A family in Gaza has openly said that they killed a police officer from the Hamas forces because they believe he was responsible for the death of their relative. This shocking event has led many people in Gaza to show their anger towards Hamas, the group that has controlled the area since 2007.

The Hamas-run interior ministry reacted strongly, warning that they would not allow actions that disrupt peace. Recently, hundreds of people protested in northern Gaza, shouting “Hamas out” and “Enough death.” These protests were sparked by new military orders from Israel to evacuate people from areas where militants launched rocket attacks.

Many protesters felt brave enough to speak out against Hamas partly because there were fewer police on the streets in recent weeks, especially after Israel resumed its military operations. A video showing the killing of the police officer circulated widely on social media, further highlighting the anger of Gaza’s residents.

The family, known in Deir Al-Balah, claimed that the officer had shot one of their relatives while trying to settle a fight outside a flour storage area. They insisted that the killing was not premeditated. Hamas warned that they would take action against those who create chaos in Gaza. They called the officer’s murder a crime that helps Israel by breaking Palestinian unity.

In another incident in Gaza City, another family accused Hamas police of killing their relative and vowed to seek revenge, saying they would not let their son’s death go unpunished.
