The temperature in Delhi is predicted to reach around 39-40°C in the next few days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) says that the temperatures across northwest India will rise by 3-5°C in the following week. Right now, temperatures in Delhi are between 34-36°C during the day and around 14-17°C at night.

Mahesh Palawat, a weather expert from Skymet Weather, explained that dry winds from the west will blow over Delhi and nearby areas. This means the air will feel hotter, and solar heating will increase. Together, these factors will result in warmer weather.

Heat wave alerts are issued for some areas like Saurashtra and Kutch in Gujarat, where very high temperatures are expected. An orange alert has been issued there to prepare for possible emergencies. High temperatures can make people sick, especially those who spend a lot of time outside, like the elderly, babies, and people with health issues; they should be careful and stay cool and hydrated.

On a related note, many places in Gujarat, south Rajasthan, and other areas had maximum temperatures between 39-41°C on Tuesday. Meanwhile, temperatures rose to 35-38°C in several other regions, including Odisha, Telangana, and parts of Maharashtra.

In some parts of peninsular India, there will be thunderstorms, strong winds, and isolated heavy rainfall until April 6. So, it’s important for everyone to stay prepared.
