A big fire happened in a warehouse near Deesa town in Gujarat on April 1, and it sadly killed 21 people. Police have found dangerous chemicals used to make firecrackers, like aluminium powder and yellow dextrin, at the warehouse.

Two men who own the warehouse, Khubchand and Deepak Mohnani, were caught trying to escape to Madhya Pradesh when police stopped them. They have been charged with serious crimes because of the fire.

The police are checking to see if firecrackers were actually being made in the warehouse. The owners say they were not making firecrackers, but since dangerous materials were found, the police will keep investigating.

The warehouse used to have permission to store firecrackers, but that permission expired on December 31 because it wasn’t safe enough. The government of Gujarat is forming a special team to look into this case. This team will include important officials and experts who will dig deeper into what happened.
