Waaree Energies has just opened India’s biggest solar cell factory in Chikhli, Gujarat, and started operations on March 29. This factory, which covers a large area, can produce 5.4 gigawatts of solar cells. It’s a big deal for India’s clean energy goals.
The facility is built on 150 acres, with 101 acres covered for production. It showcases the latest technology for making efficient solar cells. Waaree Energies is excited about this factory because it helps create a greener future and supports India’s plan to reach 500 gigawatts of renewable energy by 2030.
Not only does this factory promise high-quality production, but it’s also a great opportunity for jobs. It’s expected to create over 9,500 direct jobs and around 30,000 indirect jobs, boosting the local economy.
Waaree Energies’ shares had fallen a bit, closing 2.13% lower at Rs 2,384 on the NSE last Friday
