Caspar Veldkamp, the Foreign Minister of the Netherlands, is visiting India for the first time from March 31 to April 1, 2025. His trip aims to make the friendship between India and the Netherlands even stronger. They want to work together more in important areas like trade, investments, defense, and new ideas.
On March 31, Veldkamp met S. Jaishankar, India’s External Affairs Minister, for talks about how the two countries can cooperate more. They talked about many subjects, including politics, culture, and how people connect.
They discussed new areas to work together, such as semiconductors (which are used in electronics), digital technology, renewable energy, and green hydrogen. They also focused on traditional areas like water, farming, health, and security. This visit will help both countries work better together and find new ways to collaborate.
The leaders also talked about important world and regional updates. Jaishankar was happy to meet Veldkamp, saying, “I’m glad to meet Foreign Minister Caspar Veldkamp. We discussed how our cooperation is growing in many areas.”
Veldkamp agreed, saying it’s essential for India and the Netherlands to strengthen their partnership due to today’s complicated world situation. He looks forward to speaking with Jaishankar and NSA Ajit Doval during his visit.
This visit shows the strong bond between the two countries, which has been ongoing for over 75 years. The Netherlands and India have been working together officially since 1947, and this trip will continue to build on that successful relationship.
