In Kohima, Nagaland, a fight between villagers from two nearby districts led to four people getting hurt, according to Deputy Chief Minister Yanthunga Patton. He said the situation is now calm and urged everyone in Kiphire and Meluri districts to keep the peace.
Patton expressed his sadness over the violence, stating that it disrupts harmony and damages community relationships. He didn’t say when the clash happened but reassured people that the situation is stable. He encouraged communication and understanding instead of fighting.
The reasons for the clash are still unclear. To find out what happened, two district leaders from Kiphire and Meluri have been asked to investigate and report back to the state government.
Among the injured, three were treated for minor wounds and released from the hospital, while one person with a head injury was taken to Kohima for better care. Patton visited the injured patient and learned from doctors that he is now safe.
Patton was accompanied by other officials during his visit to the hospital, including local MLAs and the Director General of Police.
