Tariq Khan, a spokesperson for the Samajwadi Party, recently got a scary phone call from someone claiming to belong to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. This call happened two days ago and has made the police start looking into it.

In an audio clip that has been shared online, Khan, who often defends the Samajwadi Party in TV debates, can be heard receiving rude and threatening remarks. Khan told reporters that he has been receiving mean and threatening calls for the past two months, but he had ignored them. However, on Friday night, the caller not only insulted him but also said he was part of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Because it sounded very serious, Khan quickly told the police and the leader of his party, Akhilesh Yadav.

Khan mentioned, “I think this might be a prank, but it’s still important to find out who called me.” He shared the recordings of the latest call with the police.

Akhilesh Yadav has been updated about the situation and has asked Khan to come to Lucknow on Tuesday. If needed, Yadav might talk to the Director General of Police about it.

In the audio clip, the caller warns Khan by saying things like, “Be careful or you will be next.” The caller also repeatedly says things like, “You better watch what you say,” and “We will have to do something.” When Khan asked about Lawrence Bishnoi, the caller replied angrily, “You’ll know soon. Wait for a few days. I will show you.” The call ended with the caller using bad language.

According to the Additional Superintendent of Police, Ramanand Prasad, they haven’t confirmed if the call really came from the Bishnoi gang or if it was just a prank. Still, they are taking this very seriously. The police are tracking the phone number used by the caller, and an officer has been assigned to investigate.

Last October, the Mumbai police connected a village in Bahraich district to the murder of a political leader named Baba Siddique. Some suspects from that case were linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and were arrested at that time.

Tariq Khan lives in Bahraich and is the son of Teje Khan, a well-known Samajwadi Party leader who has served as the chairman of the Bahraich Municipal Board twice.
