New Delhi, A new report from a parliamentary committee says that officers working in government jobs can stay in their positions for too long, which can lead to corruption. The committee pointed out that there is a rule requiring officers to change jobs regularly, but it’s not being followed properly. Some officers have stayed in important jobs for over 8 or 9 years, while the heads of their departments have changed several times.

The committee believes this is a big problem, especially in ministries that handle money and sensitive issues. They found that some officers have managed to stay in the same ministry their entire careers, which is not good. The report emphasizes that these issues need to be fixed right away.

The committee also noted that certain jobs have rules for how long officers should stay, like 3 years in sensitive positions. However, some officers have figured out ways to avoid changing jobs. To prevent corruption, they recommend that all transfers be done according to the rules, ensuring no one stays in a ministry longer than they should.
