The Indian women’s cricket team is set to tour Australia early next year for a tough and exciting all-format cricket series. This tour will take place from February 15 to March 9 and will include three T20Is (Twenty20 International matches), three ODIs (One Day Internationals), and one special Test match.
The series will kick off with the first T20I in Sydney on February 15, followed by matches in Canberra and Adelaide. After the T20Is, the ODI matches will start on February 24 in Brisbane, with additional games in Hobart and Melbourne.
The final event on this tour will be a one-off Test match at the newly redeveloped WACA Ground in Perth, happening from March 6 to March 9. This Test match is special because it will be played under lights (D/N), which means it will be held in the evening.
The Melbourne Cricket Ground was not available for the series due to renovations, which is why the WACA Ground was chosen. The WACA Ground is being changed into a modern venue with a maximum capacity of 10,000 fans and is expected to be ready by the end of this year.
This tour is significant as it will lead to the new ICC Women’s Future Tours Program starting in 2025-26, which will outline women’s cricket for the next few years. The BCCI has also moved up the Women’s Premier League (WPL) to January 2026, prompting Cricket Australia to adjust the schedule for this series.
