On Thursday, President Donald Trump celebrated the Muslim holy month of Ramadan by hosting an Iftar dinner at the White House. He expressed gratitude to Muslim-Americans who supported him in the 2024 presidential election and said, “Ramadan Mubarak” to his Muslim friends.
During the dinner, which included community leaders and diplomats, Trump reassured the attendees that his administration is working hard for the Muslim community. He mentioned that his team is focused on achieving lasting peace in the Middle East, building on the Abraham Accords that he believes are important for peace.
“We want peace,” Trump stated. He criticized President Biden for not doing enough after these agreements were made. Trump emphasized that countries involved in the Abraham Accords are already talking about new agreements to further peace in the region.
As the dinner proceeded, Trump highlighted the importance of Ramadan, where Muslims fast during the day and gather each night for Iftar meals with family and friends. He praised the efforts of all Muslims around the world in seeking peace.
This was not Trump’s first Iftar dinner; he hosted his first one back in 2018, showing his continued engagement with the Muslim community during Ramadan.
