A group of three judges from the Supreme Court started looking into a case involving Justice Yashwant Varma from the Delhi High Court. This comes after a fire at his official home led to the finding of cash. The team, which includes Justice Sheel Nagu, Justice GS Sandhawalia, and Justice Anu Sivaraman, visited Justice Varma’s house on Tughlak Crescent in Delhi to check things out. They spent around 30 to 35 minutes inspecting the place.

What Happened?

The situation began on March 14 when there was a fire in the storeroom of Justice Varma’s home. Firefighters and police found “four to five semi-burnt sacks” full of Indian money during their response to the fire. Because of this discovery, Chief Justice of India Sanjiv Khanna ordered these judges to investigate what happened.

Justice Varma’s Response

Justice Varma is really upset about the claims and says that neither he nor his family members ever put any cash in that storeroom. He believes that the rumors about the cash are meant to hurt his reputation and are part of a plan to frame him.
