Delhi’s Health Minister, Pankaj Singh, spoke in the Delhi Assembly on Monday about the number of ventilators ordered for hospitals, and he promised to make healthcare better in the city. He answered a question from Atishi, the Leader of the Opposition, who wanted to know about the ventilators. Another MLA from the BJP, Harish Khurana, also asked about the ventilators in government hospitals.

The plan is for hospitals to have 5-7% of their beds as ICU beds with ventilators. Right now, Delhi has 1,007 ventilators from the state government and 646 from the central government. The minister emphasized that improving healthcare in Delhi is a top priority.

Earlier, Atishi criticized the BJP-led central government. She said that they had promised to give Rs 2,500 to women on March 8, but the registration for this has not even started. Atishi expressed her concern that the people of Delhi might be let down again.

Atishi also referred to a report by the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) that the assembly was supposed to discuss. She questioned why all the reports were not being presented together.

On the same day, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta marked the start of the budget session by preparing a sweet dish called ‘Kheer.’ This budget session is important because it is the first under the new BJP government after 27 years. The budget will be presented on March 25.

During this session, various reports will also be introduced and discussed. There will be important meetings to discuss issues like water shortages and drain cleaning in Delhi.

The budget session is a big deal because it will decide on financial matters and issues that affect the daily lives of people in Delhi.
