A professor’s unusual way of choosing a girlfriend has caused lots of talk online. Lou, who teaches at Zhejiang University, shared his detailed list of what he wants in a partner in a matchmaking chatroom. He is 35 years old, 175 cm tall, weighs 70 kg, has a PhD, and makes over 1 million yuan (about ₹1.16 crore) a year. Lou loves sports and investing money and comes from a wealthy family in Yiwu, Zhejiang.
He wants his ideal girlfriend to be born after the year 2000, which means she must be at least ten years younger than him. Lou likes girls who are between 165–171 cm tall and must be slim with a pretty appearance. Education is very important to him; he prefers someone with at least a bachelor’s degree from one of nine top Chinese universities. He may also consider girls from highly-ranked foreign schools.
Lou believes that studying law or medicine is a plus, but he might make exceptions for those who look good, have a rich family, or show special skills. After many people criticized him, Zhejiang University said they don’t support his views. Lou reported the backlash to the police.
This situation has gotten people talking, with some saying he has the right to be picky, while others think it’s sad that he treats love like a business deal.
