A fire broke out at EPCOT, one of the parks at Walt Disney World, on Saturday evening, leading to evacuations. The fire started just after 7 PM when a walk-in cooler caught fire behind the France Pavilion. Videos shared on social media showed thick smoke rising above the park. Visitors were quickly told to leave the Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure ride, but luckily, there were no injuries.

A representative from Disney confirmed that the fire was caused by a cooler, but the exact reason for the fire is still unknown. The local fire department quickly put out the fire, and the pavilion reopened for guests soon after.

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is a fun 4D ride that takes guests on a journey through Gusteau’s restaurant from the movie Ratatouille. EPCOT is one of four major parks at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando and attracts millions of visitors each year.

Many people at the park shared videos of the fire, showing guests leaving the pavilion. One visitor described the situation as “a scary moment” but mentioned that it was “out now.”
