KL Rahul Might Miss First Two IPL 2025 Matches for New Baby!

KL Rahul, a leading player for the Delhi Capitals, might not play in the first two matches of IPL 2025. His wife, Athiya Shetty, is expecting their first child! Rahul shared the joyful news right after India’s successful Champions Trophy win earlier this month.

Alyssa Healy, the captain of the Australian women’s cricket team and wife of Delhi Capitals player Mitchell Starc, said Rahul might not be ready for the first couple of games. She mentioned this while chatting about the team on the YouTube channel LiSTNR Sport.

Healy said, “They don’t have Harry Brook, so we need to see who will replace him. KL Rahul probably won’t play at the start because he’s waiting for the birth of their child, which is really exciting.”

Rahul was bought by the Capitals for INR 12 crore after leaving the Lucknow Super Giants. Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant, who used to lead the Capitals, joined Lucknow Super Giants for a record INR 27 crore!

The Capitals will start their season against Lucknow on March 24. It looks like Rahul may not be playing that game in Visakhapatnam.

A lot of people were guessing who would captain the Delhi Capitals after they bought Rahul. But they chose Axar Patel, who has been with the team since 2019, as their captain for this season. Faf du Plessis, another new player for the Capitals, will be the vice-captain after leading Royal Challengers Bangalore for three years.
