The new movie Nadaaniyan has faced a lot of jokes and mean comments on social media. People are making fun of the acting skills of Ibrahim Ali Khan and Khushi Kapoor as well as the film’s dialogue. In response to all the harsh comments, filmmaker Vikram Bhatt has come to the defense of the young actors.
In an interview, Vikram shared his view on Nadaaniyan. He said that the film wasn’t really his style, but he didn’t think Ibrahim and Khushi acted badly. This film was Ibrahim’s first, and he is the son of famous actors Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh.
Vikram said, “I don’t understand why people are trolling this film. I like both the lead actors—Khushi and Ibrahim. Whether the film is good or not, I thought Ibrahim did a decent job. Nowadays, there’s a lot of talk about nepotism (when kids of stars get opportunities), and people think newcomers need to be amazing right away, which isn’t fair. This is Ibrahim’s first movie! Who does an amazing job in their first film? He has a good screen presence, and it’s clear he knows how to act. I feel sad about all the negativity.”
He continued, “I didn’t find anything wrong with his acting. The film isn’t my type, but it targets younger audiences and teenagers. As a director, I think Ibrahim and Khushi performed well. Ibrahim looks a lot like Saif, so comparisons will happen, but he stands out on his own. I believe he will be a huge star in the future.”
After its release, Nadaaniyan got mixed reactions. Some people liked it, while others didn’t. The film’s dialogue, written by Ishita Moitra, received a lot of criticism and jokes online. Ishita has worked on other popular shows and movies.
This film also marks the directorial debut of Shauna Gautam and is produced by Karan Johar. Besides Ibrahim and Khushi, it features actors like Jugal Hansraj, Dia Mirza, Suniel Shetty, and Mahima Chaudhary. You can watch it on Netflix.
