In Maharajganj, Uttar Pradesh, Governor Anandiben Patel spoke strongly about stopping crimes against women. She demanded that everyone follows the laws strictly and says “zero tolerance” should be the goal. Patel wants the police to be alert and suggests creating awareness in villages to fight against child marriage and drug issues. “We need to inform people and do activities in the villages. If we have to, let’s hold awareness marches there. The police must stay active to protect women under this strict policy,” she stated.
She also praised local officials for their efforts in turning 40 villages into model neighborhoods by using government programs effectively. Patel highlighted the achievements in helping the Mushar and Vantangia communities, saying, “It’s great that officials are caring for these villages. They should ensure every welfare scheme reaches everyone.”
While at the Collectorate Complex, she distributed benefits from various welfare programs, including preschool kits for Anganwadi centers, job letters for new Anganwadi workers, health cards, and nutritional kits for tuberculosis patients.
Patel pointed out the importance of Anganwadi centers, stating, “Anganwadi workers are like Mother Yashoda to the kids. They teach and also look after their health and food. It’s vital for them to be trained in child psychology for better learning.” She also praised the hiring of 210 new educated Anganwadi workers, believing that their skills will improve early childhood education.
Patel visited stalls from different government departments, such as Women and Child Development and Agriculture, emphasizing that welfare programs need to work well. She concluded, “Every scheme must reach every single person. The success of these programs depends on how well they are carried out and watched over
