The Crew-10 mission from NASA and SpaceX is about to dock with the International Space Station (ISS) on Sunday, March 16, at around 9:37 AM IST. This mission is important because it brings new astronauts to the ISS and helps return stranded American astronauts Sunita Williams and Barry Wilmore back home.

NASA began live coverage of the mission at 7:55 AM IST on Sunday. The astronauts on board the Crew-10 spacecraft are Anne McClain, Nichole Ayers, Takuya Onishi from Japan (JAXA), and Kirill Peskov from Russia (Roscosmos). They are heading to the ISS for a long scientific mission. The spacecraft, called Dragon, can dock by itself and will connect to a special place on the ISS called the Harmony module. Both the Crew-10 team and the astronauts already on the ISS will watch this process very closely.

After docking, hatch opening is planned for around 11:12 AM IST. The Crew-10 astronauts will then join the current Expedition 72 crew, which includes NASA astronauts Nick Hague, Don Pettit, Sunita Williams, and Butch Wilmore, plus Roscosmos cosmonauts Aleksandr Gorbunov, Alexey Ovchinin, and Ivan Vagner.

Key Points:

– NASA and SpaceX launched the Crew-10 mission on March 15 to the ISS.
– This mission is replacing Butch Wilmore and Sunita Williams, who have been on the ISS for nine months.
– The Crew-10 team includes astronauts from NASA, JAXA, and Russia.
– Wilmore and Williams are scheduled to return on March 19-20, along with other astronauts.
