Indian cricket star Virat Kohli has said that he might not have another chance to play in Australia after his team lost the recent Test series 3-1. Although at 36 years old, Kohli is not ready to retire because he still loves playing cricket. In the first Test in Perth, he scored a great 100 runs, but overall he struggled during the series, making only 190 runs with an average of 23.75.
Kohli spoke at the RCB Innovation Lab Indian Sports Summit and shared that this series was very disappointing for him, and it reminded him of his tough time in England in 2014 when he only scored 134 runs. He said, “The recent Australia tour was very disappointing for me. I might not get to play there again for four years.”
Even though Kohli stopped playing T20 internationals after India’s World Cup victory last year, he still plays for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL. He is also an important player for the Indian Test team and helped them win the Champions Trophy last week.
Kohli emphasized that he plays cricket because of his love for the game, not just for achievements. He said, “As long as I love the game, I will continue playing.” Kohli reassured fans, “Don’t worry, I’m not retiring anytime soon; everything is fine.”
